Nigeria Situation Update - New Displacements in Borno State 28 January 2019

Since November 2018, an upsurge of civilian displacements in Nigeria’s north-east, mainly as a result of clashes and attempted attacks in Baga and Monguno (on 26 and 28 December 2018 respectively), has sparked the movement of 56,770 people into Maiduguri, Monguno, Konduga and Jere local government areas (LGAs). People are also reported to have moved from Rann town in the north-east into Goura town in Cameroon, on 27 January 2019. Nigeria Situation Update - New Displac

IOM Nigeria Emergency Response Activities

IOM provides life-saving assistance improving the living condition of the affected population through provision of Non-Food Items (NFI), Shelter and Water, Sanitation
and Hygiene (WASH) services to displaced families as well as supporting the Government of Nigeria and partners in Camp Coordination and Camp Management
(CCCM) activities. Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) to adults and children affected by the conflict is also provided in camps and host communities.
