Adoption of the Draft National Labour Migration Policy by the Federal Executive Council
15 October (Abuja) -The draft National Labour Migration Policy and its Action Plan was adopted by the Federal Executive Council on Wednesday, October 15, 2014.
The project has supported the Federal Ministry of Labour and Productivity (FMLP) in advocating for the adoption of the policy by carrying out the following activities:
i) conducting training sessions for the FMLP staff in labour migration policy development and implementation, ii) organization of information exchange and peer education possibilities to the Philippines – a country with interesting policies and practices in the area of labour migration management, iii) policy validation workshop, iv) regular stakeholders meetings to ensure active participation of workers unions, employers organizations and other relevant stakeholders in the adoption of the Draft Labour Migration policy and Action plan.
The project will continue to support the FMLP in the printing and dissemination of copies of the adopted Labour Migration Policy and the implementation of the Labour Migration Action Plan.
