"Home for the Displaced" is a digital fundraising platform initiated by the International Organization for Migration (IOM) to address the critical humanitarian needs in northeast Nigeria. In partnership with Federal, State and Non-Governmental actors, we aim to provide a low-cost, incremental, and modular housing solution to approximately 1.5 million people whose lives have been disrupted by violence in rural areas of North-East Nigeria.

Your support on this platform will directly contribute to alleviating the suffering of those affected by the crisis.

Home after Crisis: New Beginnings for Displaced Persons in Nigeria

In 2023, IOM partnered with world renowned international architects to launch the Home After Crisis competition launched in partnership with the Nigeria Humanitarian Fund. 250 submissions from more than 1,600 designers, architects, and engineers from over 100 countries were reviewed by a panel of 11 judges.

The first three winning prizes were respectively awarded to the Nigerian-led IMAGINI(NG), Zuhura Zuhair, and Chora, whose proposed housing solutions tap into the local context to offer dignified homes whose designs are anchored in Nigeria’s rich cultural heritage.

With your donation, we can turn these into a reality.

First prize.    Second prize.    Third prize.
